If you are a mature (in outlook if not necessarily age!) elven role-player looking for the company of elves then we may be the kin for you. We do not accept applications online as all recruitment is in game only. Please note that we are an all-elven kinship with rare exceptions made for a number of elf-friends who have proven themselves over a long period of time.

Roleplaying in Reniolwaith

We consider ourselves to be heavy roleplayers in terms of content. It is not necessary to be a heavy player in terms of time as it is important to remember that this is a game and we have real lives too!

As we play on an official RP server our members are expected to adhere to the Codemaster's Role-play Policy. Reniolwaith was a member of the Laurelin Roleplayer's Alliance which sought to create server-wide events for the enjoyment of all. Although the LRPA is no more, our members are still expected to abide by the LRPA Code of Conduct.

Additionally, as a recruit or member of Reniolwaith you represent the kinship wherever you go to all those around you. As such, you are expected to behave in a manner befitting of a Tolkien elf. There is an excellent "Guide to Elves" written by Andarne on the Codemasters Forums.

Chat Channels
As per the LRPA Code of Conduct we stay in character in the /say channel.
Kinship, fellowship, and tells are out-of-character (OOC).

Recruitment Process

1. Register on our forum or contact one of our officers in game.

2. You shall then be contacted by one of our officers in-game.

3. You will be expected to spend some time role-playing and getting to know existing kin members to ascertain whether you are a good fit for us and vice versa. Once both parties are comfortable with one another the formalities begin.

4. IC recruitment and promotion to member will be done in a two-stage ceremony. The ceremonies take place at the kin house, 'I Randir Îdh' (The Wanderer's Rest), as part of the weekly family night. In that way, as many members as possible will be present to witness the ceremonies. If there are no recruits seeking membership in any given week then the evening will be a purely social occasion for story-telling, music, etc.

Stage 1: You will present yourself to the company and give your promise that you will contribute to the good work of the kin and show respect and loyalty to all those within it. Next you are expected to explain what you will bring to the company in terms of their personal skills and RP background. On the basis of this a suitable task is then appointed to you which allows you to demonstrate your commitment to this promise. You then have one week (exceptions are made for players who are unable to be online often) to complete your task and return with your results.

6. At this point, now a recruit, you will receive the following benefits:

  • Travel to kin-house skill
  • Your forum membership will be upgraded so that you have access to all our forums.

7. Stage 2: At the next ceremony you return and present the results of your efforts to the company (hopefully telling us some nice stories in the process :)). If you have been successful in the task the company then makes a promise to offer you protection, love and loyalty and formally accepts you as a member. You will also receive your own Reniolwaith uniform which is worn when we march into battle and official occasions.

Other considerations

1. We do not normally recruit alts unless they are played seriously as characters within their own right and have an IC reason for being part of Reniolwaith.

2. If you are inactive for a significant period of time (over 90 days), without first giving notice on the forums, your membership of the kin shall be cancelled.
